Our goal is to provide you with the knowledge, tools, and resources to successfully manage your college experience and achieve your academic goals.
Academic advisors help students successfully meet their educational goals. Academic advising is a joint effort shared by advisors and students. In this partnership, advising is not something advisors do to or for students, but something advisors and students do together over a period of time. The advisor’s task is to guide students toward accepting responsibility for mature, academic decision-making in relationship to career and life goals. Meetings with an advisor are designed to provide students with the information needed for a successful academic career.
Academic advisors help students:
- Assist with class scheduling, registration adding or dropping classes, and appeals
- Develop a Student Education Plan
- Degree exploration and change of majors
- Connect students with UCC support services and community resources
- Provide support when students are facing challenges
