Four face-to-face forums scheduled to take place next week regarding upcoming strategic plan.

ROSEBURG, Oregon – As Umpqua Community College (UCC) prepares to create its strategic plan for the next five years, the community is being encouraged to provide input toward the process. To best reflect community needs and interests, the College has scheduled four face-to-face community forums. The forums, which will be held on two different days next week, will be held in four different Douglas County locations.

On Monday, July 9, morning and afternoon forums will take place in Myrtle Creek and Roseburg:

  • The 10 a.m. session will be held at South Umpqua High School Library, 501 Chadwick Lane, Myrtle Creek, 97457.
  • The 4 p.m. session will be held at the Ford Family Foundation Conference Room, 1600 NW Stewart Parkway, Roseburg, 97471.

On Tuesday, July 10, morning and afternoon forums will take place in Winston and Sutherlin:

  • The 10 a.m. session will be held at the Winston Community Center, 440 SE Grape Avenue, Winston, 97496.
  • The 4 p.m. session will be held at the Sutherlin Community Center, 150 Willamette Street, Sutherlin, 97479.

Last month, the College sent an online survey to UCC students, staff, and some community groups. The survey was also shared locally through the College’s main social media outlets. As a result, the College received 576 responses.

“These forums provide a way for community members to directly communicate with UCC’s leadership about the College’s strengths and areas for improvement,” Dr. Debra Thatcher, UCC’s president, said. “Regardless of where people live in the county or whether people responded to the online survey, everyone is welcome to attend one of the forums.”
